Reliability

Thanks to the double infrastructure, via remote Cloud technology or local cabled and Wifi, the IpDoor system guarantees both the highest connection reliability and the easiest installation. It’s even possible to pre-configure the system independently from the installation and physical location of the external door station. After the system has been configured and the door station installed, when it’s connected to the Internet it will automatically download the preset configuration from the Cloud.

Unlike run of the mill smart doorbells with cloud-only connection, IpDoor ensures operation even without an Internet line, using point-to-point communication technology. The system checks whether devices are connected in a local network, through a wired network, or Wifi. In these cases it activates a direct communication, otherwise it puts the call through the Cloud.

Security

We have the ownership and control of the Cloud servers, communication is in fact protected according to the highest security standards using encrypted protocols (with asymmetric encryption system; SHA-256, TLS 1, TLS 1.1, TLS 1.2 and OAuth 2.0 authentication, Grant Password Type). Cloud servers are based on Amazon AWS technology and a  daily backup is performed, encrypted, and stored in multiple geographical locations for maximum efficiency and security. We have developed a monitoring system with Cloud API that gives real-time monitoring every 30 seconds to test the system in Up & Running mode. Real-time alerts of incidents take just over 1 minute. Cloud Services have integrity notifications and check the downtime of single-service applications every minute.

In order to provide the highest level of security, the IpDoor system allows you to control the door openers in one of two modes: locally from the external door station (a simpler solution at installation level) or from inside the house, using wiring through standard IP relays. In the latter solution greater safety is achieved by avoiding exposing the wires to the outside to activate the electric locks.

Efficiency

The multiserver cloud architecture is designed to ensure continuous operation even in the event of a server crash, creating a redundant platform capable of offering an immediate switch to other servers (extremely high levels of security are always maintained). Each of the system’s components (backend, frontend) is redundant on several virtual machines (at least two). The number of machines depends on the number of users and connections. Virtual machines are in at least two high availability zones, in order to ensure that at least one is always available.

The Service Level Agreement has 95% uptime for Host & Manager (on a monthly basis) with 99% uptime for guests (on a monthly basis). Thanks to this architecture which also deals with balancing resources and geographical distribution, the connection is always made to the nearest and fastest server to offer the best possible communication.

Integration

The IpDoor project ensures a complete and simple integration also in complex infrastructures: compatibility with the SIP protocol allows communication with all the standard devices that support it such as telephones, telephone exchanges or most VoIP applications. In a corporate environment, therefore, the mere installation of an IpDoor external unit on the network allows all existing equipment (telephones, PCs, smartphones) to be provided with the possibility of answering and opening the door.


The adoption of the Android operating system in all devices, whether an external unit or an internal monitor, facilitates communication, allowing monitors to also host applications developed by third parties to control specific equipment. Thanks to IpDoor's extreme compatibility it’s easy to build or complete a home automation system.

Recognition

Thanks to the access control functionality, the IpDoor system remotely identifies the user via smartphone Bluetooth technology or facial recognition. It also allows him to enter a structure easily by typing a personal numerical code on the touch display of the external door station or by associating the NFC of a smartphone or a tag (e.g. card on which credentials are registered)

With the IpDoor system it is possible to give a virtual key (QR code, card, numeric code) to occasional users for their autonomous but timed access, decide the period of validity and deactivate it at any time.
